It’s natural to have self-importance, but considered to be narcissistic personality disorder when a person inordinately seeks to be admired by others.
>> Living with a Narcissist
In a 2006 study that backed the natural inclination of the public to label celebrities as narcissists, even when no diagnosis has been recorded for narcissistic personality disorder. Dr. Drew Pinsky confirms, as a demographic group, actors and entertainers have more narcissistic tendencies than the rest of us: prone to narcissistic personality disorder. Almost every celebrity has a self-inflated ego which make them believe they are a gift to the rest of us. According to actor Gene Wilder, celebrities started being narcissistic right under the roof of their parents (dysfunctional family): they had to force their ways to many roles to earn their parents’ attention. They eventually seek for more admiration outside the home via same role switching behavior.
This piece focuses on top most narcissistic celebrities:

In another development, after joining Kabbalah (a mystical sect of Judaism). Madonna claims she removed radiation from a Ukrainian lake – a claim Gad Saad, Ph.D., a contributor at Psychology Today says is a shifty marketing ploy designed to make fast money off of the desperate and ignorant.
Saad speculates that it’s never the love for arts but the quest for fame and public adoration that make majority of celebrities to pursue life in the spotlight, landing them in the list of famous people with narcissistic personality disorder.

An Egocentric or someone who loves to look at themselves/photograph themselves is not the only definition of a Narcissist. Narcissist’s have NO REGARD for anyone else except them – literally. They could care less if they hurt someone, belittle them, etc. They are first class users in every way, shape & form. I would hate to think that the people mentioned above are truly Narcissist’s. Maybe a better word for them would be Self-Absorbed or Conceited .. but when one says Narcissist – this would be along the lines of an “L.Ron Hubbard or David Koresh”. I don’t know – just saying.
