Kate, a Callifornia Schizophrenic teen, who bears the username ‘ThePsychoticArtist’ has been receiving commendations on imgur for using art to cope with her mental illness. Since she started speaking on social media via her stunning drawings on her experiences with hallucination: one of the greatest aspects of living with Schizophrenia.
She revealed how her struggles with schizophrenia have been depriving her of many opportunities since she was in junior high school, thus embracing art as a mechanic for coping with her condition, and also for creating awareness for mental illness. Arts which only those living with the condition would understand easily.
I like knowing what I created from something so destructive has made people feel positive,” Kate said.
