Prior to this development, various health organisations have advocated for the adoption of fluoride as a way of improving dental health. Thus, the usage of fluoride in drinking water, toothbrush and paste is common, because there were no concrete evidence to prove its harmful effects on human health.

A team of scientists at the University of Kent released a report, detailing the harmful effect of fluoride on mental health i.e how it causes depression, fatigue, aching muscles and weight gain.
