The popular painter is also among famous insomniacs. Reports say he treated his insomnia by pouring a turpentine-like liquid(camphor) on his mattress to help him sleep. Unfortunately, the liquid poisoned him, becoming a major reason for his suicide.
Physically I am well, the wound is healing very well and the great loss of blood is being made up, because I eat and digest well, Van Gogh detailed his battle. What is to be feared most is insomnia, and the doctor has not spoken about it to me, nor have I spoken of it to him either. Bit I am fighting it myself.
